G'day Guys

I picked up the new Nissan Patrol 3.0lTD CRD GU recently after saying goodbye to the old 2003 Patrol GU III the day before.

Wow. I couldn't believe the difference between the too. I didn't think they had changed much particularily after a brief test drive of the new GU. And boys she looks a treat too.

I've purchase the Patrol with the following fitted via the dealer:
- OME 2" suspension lift and sterring damper
- 285/75 R17 BFG mud terrains
- ARB bullbar with integrated fog lights
- ARB side steps and rails
- IPF driving lights
- Safari snorkel
- ARB front air-locker
- tow bar
- cargo barrier
- tinted windows
- satnav and reversing camera.

So while the basics are done there are few more to come. So the mods (or should I say add-ons) are already under way.

The UHF, dual battery kit, dif breathers, Warn 9500lb winch and indash DVD unit have been installed.
I was a bit unsure on how to terminate the GME anntenna properley. Any information would be great!

And finally I have a double din DVD/bluetooth/usb/tv touch screen that I bought off ebay to replace the OEM radio. Should be fun! I'm thinking of hooking up a front facing camera controlled from a switch on the dash that will hook into the camera port on the unit. The car already has the Nissan NAv and reversing camera so another reversing camer is pretty pointless. So the question here is, how do you pull the facia off to get to the radio?

And finally in this post, who has experience with the Nissan Nav? I haven't used Nav before but this one doesn't seem crash hot. It keeps getting lost everytime I stop at a set of lights. Some comments would be great. Has anyone used the spare inputs for anything?

Anyway, future mods will be aftermarket replacement tail lights, an underbody air tank and a home a made draw system.

In dash touch screen DVD player come up quite well.

Here's a pic of my car after the long weekend up at Big River. Pretty dirty in and out.

and a video clip for good measure...

Hi guys,

a bit of an update. I've added a 42l water tank from Opposite lock between the rear seat and cargo barrier. A snug fit so it uses most of the available space. Also added a couple of seat organisers for the kids.

We went away on the long weekend to Canunda NP, SA. About 30kms from Mt Gambier. We had a ball. Plenty of sand to play in. I only ran the HT's rather than the muds. The HT's were terrible in the sand. Absolutely no floatation. Maybe I should have put the MT's on.

Anyway here's some pics from the weekend. I'll take some pics of the tank soon.

On the weekend the back was pretty saggy when fully loaded so I have picked up some Poly Air bags off eBay. They are for standard springs so I hope they fit in the 2" raised OME's? Does anybody know?

Hey goodo,
thanks for the super vid, enjoyed watching it, you guys looked as though you were enjoying yourselves making it too, was good to see the old Gen pajero was holding up its end too, not sure if it was a 2.5 TDi or a 3.0 litre petrol model, but even though it was ever so much older than your 2008 Nissan, it certainly was going real well, as you can see, Im a bit biased towards the Paj, but thats only because I run the big 3.5 petrol GDI   and it moded up for extreme off roading and I must say and Im not bragging but it is real caperble too, hope you have many, many more great times and please put them on here so we can all see them, because you have a great enviroment to enjoy some great scenery and IM sure all on here would love to see it.

Regards JACK. :) :)
